A stunning 1962 Roman Red Corvette, a multiple award-winning classic car that is sure to captivate any enthusiast. This particular model, with the VIN number 208675102491, was produced in November 1961 at the St. Louis, MO assembly plant. It holds the distinction of being the 2,491st Corvette produced out of the total 14,531 units manufactured that year.

This Corvette boasts a range of notable features and options, adding to its desirability. It is equipped with RPO #419, the Auxiliary Hardtop, of which only 8,074 were produced (55% of the original units). The hardtop has been meticulously refurbished to pristine condition, preserving its original charm. Additionally, it features RPO #441, the Direct Flow Exhaust system, with only 2,934 units produced (20%). The exhaust system has been fully redone using stainless steel, creating a captivating and distinctive sound that truly compliments the car's performance.

Under the hood lies the legendary RPO #583 327 ci 300 HP engine, a significant milestone as it was the first year of the new 327 engine. This engine option was selected in 3,294 Corvettes produced that year (23%). The car also boasts RPO #675, the Positraction Rear Axle, found in an overwhelming majority of the 1962 Corvettes (97.9% or 14,232 units). Coupled with RPO #685, the 4-speed manual transmission, which was chosen for 11,318 units (78%), this Corvette delivers an engaging driving experience.

The striking exterior is finished in the iconic Roman Red color, perfectly complemented by the Roman Red interior (RPO #932). This combination exudes timeless elegance and remains highly sought after by collectors. Noteworthy design features of the 1962 model year include the absence of painted coves and chrome trim, the availability of chrome rocker panels, and the introduction of narrow whitewall tires. The front grill ditches the traditional teeth design for an anodized painted grill, adding a touch of modernity.

Restored by the renowned C1 restoration expert, Mr. Farrell, this Corvette underwent a meticulous four-year project, ensuring utmost authenticity and quality. Although Mr. Farrell is no longer with us, his craftsmanship lives on in this magnificent vehicle. After restoration, the car found its way to the Dream Cars museum in Indiana, where it resided in a climate-controlled showroom and was occasionally driven.

Later, the Corvette joined the esteemed collection of Daryl Hampton, a passionate collector from Arizona who unfortunately had to part with it due to his failing eyesight. This was his favorite Corvette, and it was his cherished Sunday driver, taking him to various car shows. For any inquiries about the car, Mr. Hampton can be contacted at 1-480-209-5700.

The Corvette is presented in excellent condition, falling just short of a concourse-level restoration. It comes with a range of noteworthy features, including new T3 headlights, a 2" stainless steel exhaust system, and both the original convertible soft top and the meticulously refurbished auxiliary hardtop. The original rear axle straps, positraction, and 4-speed transmission remain in place, ensuring an authentic driving experience.

The chrome rims and bumpers have been re-chromed and polished to a mirror-like finish, while the correct white wall Goodyear radial tires and original hubcaps with spinners complete the authentic look. Several updates, including windshield washers and radio, have been made to enhance functionality without compromising the car's original charm. Attention to detail is evident in the use of correct-style hose clamps and the replacement of weather stripping and rubber gaskets.

Inside the cabin, you'll find the original wood tire cover, a rare and sought-after accessory, along with the original trunk mat. The steering wheel, door panels, seats, and refurbished dash gauges and clock all exude a sense of timeless elegance and authenticity.

According to Hagerty valuation, this Corvette, in its excellent condition, is estimated at $93,700. However, considering the additional options such as the 4-speed transmission and the auxiliary hardtop, as well as the rarity and desirability of the Roman Red color, the value is adjusted to $106,700. The seller is offering this beautiful Corvette at a price that allows for a quick sale to pursue a long-awaited dream car.
