1961 Metropolitan Coupe
This car was a police car in Huntington Beach, California.
We assumed that it wasn't a chase car but probably used by a Meter Maid.
We acquired her in 2008 and have done extensive work on the car.
New paint, professional custom interior with Hounds tooth fabric and Dynamat on the floor boards and headliner.
In 2023, a rebuilt MGB engine was installed with 1800cc and has a factory rating of 98 horsepower but with the performance cam, the horsepower is around 100.
The new engine has approximately 150 miles on it.
An MGB transmission was also installed along with a new exhaust system and the radiator was rebuilt at this same time.
This is just a short list of the latest restoration work done on the car.
We have complete service records of all the work that has been done plus a book of pictures of the beginning of the restoration which will be included with the sale of the car.
The car has always been garaged when not being driven and attending car shows that she has won awards in.
She is a fun car to drive and brings smiles to everyone that sees her.
